The Montgó is the blunt grey massif between Dénia and Xàbia, a natural park and the landmark you navigate the whole area by. It rises a little over 750 metres, and there is walking on it for every level.
Easy routes
From the Dénia side, tracks climb through pine and scrub to viewpoints and to the Cova de l’Aigua, an old spring with Roman-era stonework. These are half-day walks on clear paths, with the coast opening up below you as you go.

The summit
The full climb to the top is a proper hike — steep, rocky, exposed in places, and hot outside the cooler months. Start early, carry plenty of water, wear real boots. On a clear day the view reaches from Ibiza to the Peñón de Ifach.

Good to know
- It is a protected natural park: stay on marked paths, no fires, take your rubbish out
- Little to no shade and no water on the mountain — summer midday is not the time
- Access on the Dénia side from the Les Rotes road and from the park’s information point
- About 10 minutes from our villa to the nearest trailheads
